Black & Blues

June 29, 2015

I am a brand new blogger, one month in to be exact! When I found out about the Bloglovin and H&M contest I was completely excited (even though I don’t like to get hopes up, I did anyway!) My blog is concentrated on clothes that are obtainable for all. Meaning, I will never buy anything over $50 (If I do have something expensive, it’s because it was a special gift). Way back, when I first started looking at blogs, I was obsessed with the styles I saw. Of course, I wanted, needed it all. However, when I dug deeper and started looking at the prices,I knew I wouldn’t buy any of it. Not that I couldn’t afford it (would definitely put a dent in my debit card balance), but, I feel there is no reason why I should own a plain blue shirt for $200. That’s actually insane, in my opinion, of course!

When it comes to buying inexpensive clothing, it is harder to create awesome outfits. This is because you have to piece together different items for less and sometimes, you can’t always find what you have in mind. On the other hand, if you go into a store and buy a crazy set that costs more than your car payment each month, the works already done for you. There is no room for creativity, throw on some heels, add in a purse and out the door you go (Hey, I’m not hating. I wish I could do that, but that’s not the current lifestyle I currently live, maybe one day). When I thought up of the idea of creating my own blog, I wanted to share my ways of creating the look for less.  The reason being, I wanted those who visited my blog to be ABLE to get the look, while keeping their credit card happy! This contest is right up my alley, H&M  is where I get a large amount of my clothing. It is trendy, reasonable, and has everything from business wear to swimwear. What more could you ask for!?

So here’s a look I created with my new H&M shirt that was $9.95 ( oh, and from now on if you donate clothing, they will give you a coupon for 15% off, so this was actually only $8.50)

H&M heeled sandals – $5 (not kidding, end of the summer season sale!)

Charlotte Russe high waisted pants- $20

Forever 21 Belt- $8.50

TJ Maxx fringe bag (old)- $20

Very healthy perspective; I like it! I am also amazed of how much some clothes could cost without deserving it (no special material or handwork). I think big brands play a lot on their marketing potential than their quality. I wish you luck in your endeavour ๐Ÿ™‚ !

Good Luck in the contest, and I agree with you on bargain shopping. Style shouldn’t require a high price tag.
